Carry Bill OK in the House

Well the ability to carry concealed in this country has taken a great forward step with the passage in the House of the legislation to require all states to recognize and accept within limits the carry permits issued by other states.

The Bill will go on to the Senate....some day....perhaps...and become part of the election campaign cycle. Likley...Obama ....will not support it....but....you never know....Dems...are against this liberalization...of a right that most of them feel is repugnant....that this the Second Amendment right to protect oneself with a firearm.

Given the elections...even the Dems in the Senate might go along....and if so....would Obama veto this?

Of course the anti-gunners just love this legislation....why it shows how crazy all those Republicans are....supporting.....such a conservative perspective.....over their better judgement....since this will act to impact "states rights"....States rights my ass.  These gun haters don't give a Sh"t about states rights or any rights except their right to your money....their right to control you....to promote their welfare state.

So...perhaps soon we who carry won't have to worry about being arrested when we cross the state line...doing what we do as law abiding citizens....trying to protect ourselves and our loved ones from harm.  And soon perhaps....criminals....terrorists....zombie socialists....and leftists will have to increase their fear of us....the average Joe.....who...just might give them a bad day.

Right to Carry in all States

House Republicans are preparing to take up legislation next week that would make it easier for people to carry a concealed weapon as they travel from state to state.

Well maybe soon we will see support in both the House and the Senate to get this enacted.

It is about time.

Only liberal Wuss Democrats from Chicago and NYC and San Francisco would object to this one.
And of course all those other anti gun folks who want the world to be what it is not....safe for them...where everyone loves everyone....Well...their Nirvana will never come.

Sadly, good people are murdered every day - by animals who have no soul.

Most of us understand good vs evil. Most of us are willing to defend our families and ourselves. Most of us trust ourselves to deal with life and death decisions if they come.

For those pure Wusses out there who fear others and themselves...well I pity you. You who don't trust anyone other than the Police to protect you. You who would deny me the chance to protect those I love.

Well...look in the mirror if your one of those types....then repeat after me.....I am a hapless, hapless Wuss. Every day I live in fear....and becuase I do....it is not right that others don't.

Now if that perspective is you...it is not too late. You can go to your local range...and get some lessons in using a firearm. You can learn how to be self reliant. You can learn to trust yourself.

Or you can remain as you are....a loser.

We who carry concealed....wish you the best....but don't look for me to protect you and yours. That is your responsibility, not mine, and not the state....while cops may try to help you....in the end you are responsible for your own well being and that of your family.

It just may turn out that when this legislation finally passes....you will be safer...because we are out there armed....and are mere presence.....is a deterrent....well sometimes.

We Can Have Safer Schools

In light of the Illinois campus shooting, we can see more evidence that schools that allowed concealed carry are indeed safer schools.

We may yet learn that the shooter in this most recent case was confined to an institution, but that state mental health authorities did not forward his name to the NIC system, and therefore he passed the background investigation. Obama and Clinton have already reacted to the latest shooting with their appropriate sound bites. It is noted that Obama both supports an Individual's right to bear arms and supports D.C. Governments handgun ban. Now there's a man who can eloquently speak out of both sides of his mouth.

We will find out once again, the gun laws if properly administered in this case could have prevented a tragedy - given the fact that the ACLU, and mental health professionals are loath to have patient data provided to the federal government.....more of these incidents will occur.

Campus police just can't cope with this. The only solution is concealed carry on Campus.

Let's see if this issue - with this solution - can be framed as a question in upcoming Presidential debates.

CZ -82 Option for Concealed Carry

There is a neat pistol currently available that fits a nice niche in the concealed carry market.
The CZ-82 has the following characteristics.

Concealed Carry in Vehicles

Texas is a unique state in many respects and with respect to firearms some of us can be jealous when it comes to laws in Texas that are pro gun owners.

So in Texas it is legal to carry a gun loaded in your car even if you don't have a CCW permit.

Seems like local law enforcement doesn't like this and will still try to prosecute selected travelers who are found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

In an unusual twist the issue has made for allies (on this issue) between the ACLU and the NRA.

The Best Gun for Concealed Carry

Everyone has their opinion on the best Concealed Carry gun. Should it be a revolver or a semi-automatic pistol? Should it be a mouse gun or a 45 ACP? The variables are endless and the spectrum is wide.

Most experts say carry enough gun. Of course enough gun means enough power to stop an attack, hopefully with one shot.

Most believe the minimum for carry is a 9mm and the maximum is a 45 ACP, .44 Special or 45 Long Colt. In general the gun with most stopping power is the one with the greatest bore diameter.

After years reading about the issue and many years of shooting and learning defensive techniques, I am unequivocally convinced that a great choice in concealed carry guns are:

Glocks will outlast their owners, are easy to clean and are comparatively inexpensive (compared to the typical 1911, Sig., or H&K)

When the weather is hot and light clothing is the norm, something even smaller is called for.

Given the choice of carrying nothing or enough gun, I will choose "as much" gun as I can conceal. A good choice is a small all steel double action only pocket pistol in .32ACP, the Guardian from North American Arms.

It holds 7 + 1 rounds. It's strictly a point and shoot tool but its double action only, no safety to manipulate, no exposed hammer, and reliable.

Of course, these are just a few of your options. But, when it comes to your life you have to be sure what you carry will do the job. So whatever you carry, make sure you can be confident it will go bang when you need it to.
